The ctdvddet.exe file executes a task known as CTDVDDET. The file is part of the software for Creative Soundblaster Audigy audio cards. This particular file is responsible for enabling the system to automatically recognize and load DVDs whenever these are inserted to the machine’s CD/DVD drive. This file is configured as a startup entry; although leaving it enabled to run each time the system is booted is up to the user. Most of the users who have the Audigy audio card but do not use the CD/DVD drive have opted to change the file’s settings to disabled to prevent it from running upon computer boot-up. Standard location of the file is C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2ZS\DVDAudio\ctdvddet.exe. The file’s RAM usage is approximately 2.2 MB. File size in bytes is around 45,056. The process runs as a background task. There were no reports found about the stability of the file, or the way that it behaves on the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ctdvddet.exe. is used by CTDVDDET, If you shut down ctdvddet.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ctdvddet.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CTDVDDET, from your system.
