Many users claim that their anti-malware applications flag the contexttool-2.dll file as a malicious program associated with the Trojan.Generic.274715 application, which is a family of Trojans known to infect unprotected Windows-based computers with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports, outdated OS security certificates and an unsecured Windows System Registry. These users claim that the contexttool-2.dll malware has executable component processes that are capable of creating and inserting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry of the unprotected system upon their successful placement and activation, and these registry keys and entries are said to instruct the system to allow the contexttool-2.dll malware and its EXE component files to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as hidden background processes during system runtime. Because of the outdated OS security certificates of the already unprotected Windows computer, these users reported that the contexttool-2.dll malware is able to find and exploit unencrypted TCP/IP network ports that this malware then uses to initiate contact with predesignated remote servers, in order to download more malicious applications unto the system from these remote servers, which are said to be managed by the authors of the contexttool-2.dll malware, and these malicious applications are mostly spyware components and browser hijackers, according to these users. There are also other reports from users stating that their system security tools classify the contexttool-2.dll file as a malicious application associated with variants of the AdWare.Win32.Agent.ckk and AdWare.Win32.Agent.vm applications, which are families of obtrusive adware programs known to be embedded with spyware functionalities.
