What is chkmail.exe
The chkmail.exe process is an executable component file of an email checker application built into the firmware utilities, bundled programs and device driver software components of certain Acer notebook computers and laptop models, and the chkmail.exe process is placed in the system upon the installation and configuration of these Acer firmware resources, driver components and bundled application utilities. The chkmail.exe process works with the hotkeyapp.exe process, which is another EXE component file of these bundled Acer applications, in order to implement the functionalities of the shortcut key that was recorded and saved for checking emails. This email checking feature of these Acer laptops and notebooks is also integrated with the function of lighting up an LED status indicator whenever new emails enter the user's inbox. The chkmail.exe process also integrates user access functionalities into an icon placed in the Windows System Tray, and this same icon is also used by the hotkeyapp.exe process.
