Cftmon.exe is the executable file for Microsoft Office Language Bar, a Microsoft Office application tool which performs language-related tasks such as handling speech inputs. Cftmon.exe is one of the important components of the Microsoft Office Language Bar feature. It allows the user to write a file document in different languages. It monitors the active windows while running in the background and provides support for various activities like speech recognition, handwriting recognition, translation, and other technologies related to user’s input. Buttons on the Office Language Bar can be used for performing tasks related to the text services like speech and handwriting recognition. For instance, when entering texts with handwriting input device, the user can utilize the buttons to open a Writing Pad window on which to insert handwritten texts into the document. The Office Language Bar can be moved anywhere on the desktop screen and can be minimized to the taskbar.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cftmon.exe. is used by Microsoft Windows Operating System, If you shut down cftmon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
