The 3.tmp is a malware virus. Malware is software used by computer hackers to gather information, data, personal details and the like from a victim’s desktop computer. Malware comes in many classifications and forms. Viruses, key loggers, spyware, adware and Trojan horses, among others, are some of the most common types of malware. Malware can be infested in a computer through corrupted software downloads, online piracy downloads, e-mail, personal messages, images and other formats where possible infection could occur. Malware may come from one source or many. Individual hackers infest malware on a PC for personal or business purposes. Other malware loaded computers can also be used for automated and random attacks. The main difference of a virus from a worm is its activity. Viruses are user intervened while worms are persistent malware that can infect one computer to another in a network. Browser plugins and constant downloading are what exposes a user to malware. Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. 3.tmp. is used by MEMSWEEP2, If you shut down 3.tmp, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop 3.tmp, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is MEMSWEEP2, from your system.
