You can use the accessibility features of Windows to notify you when you've pressed the Caps Lock key. Follow these steps: 1. Click on Start >> Click Control Panel. 2. Click Ease Of Access >> Select “Change how your keyboard works” from Ease of Access Center. 3. Check the Box for Turn on Toggle Keys. 4. Click Apply. Click OK.
The ToggleKeys feature, when turned on, will beep whenever the Caps Lock, Num Lock, or Scroll Lock keys are pressed.
If this doesn't work, you need to perform below steps as well and let me know if this fixes the issue, but before you do any changes in the registry I would advice you to backup the registry and do the below.
1. To change the behavior for currently logged in user: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard
2.To change the behavior for all users: HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard
3. Now in right-side pane, change value of "InitialKeyboardIndicators" string value to any of following:
0 - Turn all indicators Off (NumLock, CapsLock, ScrollLock) 1 - Turn CapsLock On 2 - Turn NumLock On 3 - Turn CapsLock and NumLock On 4 - Turn ScrollLock On 5 - Turn CapsLock and ScrollLock On 6 - Turn NumLock and ScrollLock On 7 - Turn all indicators On (NumLock, CapsLock, ScrollLock)
That's it. Exit registry editor and restart your system to take effect. Try changing the value of "InitialKeyboardIndicators" string value to 3 to check if this will solve the caps lock and Num lock issue.
When I connect an external microphone to the jack, it is not working. I can see it in the "Sound" tab, but the levels is very low. I have tried with several microphones.
