The startup on computers is only ever slow because of the sheer amount of programs that you have running on startup.
You can easily fix this problem by uninstalling old software that you no longer use, and ensuring that windows updates are installed. After you have done this, you can run a tool like CCleaner or PCRevivor, and it will clean your temporary files, and hopefully make the computer run a lot faster. Windows 8 boot times should remain well under 1 min normally. |

The boot time for Windows 8 should not be taking more than 30 seconds to load.
Right click on Compter icon, click on Manage and select Event Viewer from it. Go to System: Windows log Section and then check which process is taking more time during the boot. Then compare the speed in safe mode. If the difference between boot time is more than 10 seconds, uninstall the programs which took more time. Then also defragment your hard drive by following below steps: 1. Click on the Charms Bar > Optimize Drives. 2. The Optimize Drives dialog shall open, displaying the list of drives. 3. Select the drive of your choice (Note that: the Current status field will give you the % fragmented) and click on *Optimize. |
