When I click ob those keys using my touch screen laptop, nothing gets done. It is very annoying and I asked store person he says it is not their fault.
I will complain against HP online but want to get this working first.
The Touch Keyboard in Windows 8.1 is a useful tool hat lets you type on touch devices, without having the need of any physical keyboard.
It its not to be confused with the Windows Onscreen Keyboard, where you cannot use touch. It is a part of the Ease of Access feature of Windows, which you can operate with the help of you mouse, instead of the physical keyboard.
To start the onscreen keyboard, press Win+U to open the Ease of Access Center.
Click on Start On-Screen Keyboard.
Once you turn on the onscreen keyboard, you will see the following layout.
You can use your mouse cursor to click on the buttons and operate the keys. Note that you cannot use touch with the Onscreen keyboard.
But, if you want to use the Touch Screen keyboard instead, use the below steps:
To turn on the Touch Keyboard, swipe in from the right edge to open the Charms bar. Tap Settings and then Keyboard.
Next select Touch keyboard and handwriting panel. The keyboard will appear.
For faster access, you can right-click on the taskbar > Toolbars > Touch keyboard. The touch keyboard icon will appear and sit in your taskbar near the notification area. Tapping it will make the touch keyboard appear.
Press the touch keyboard icon in the bottom right corner. You will see the four available layouts. The first one is the default layout.
