Battery Health refers to how much charge your battery can hold compared with how much it originally could hold when it was new. When your battery is brand new it has a specific charge capacity that it can fill up to when fully charged. Over time as you use your battery by discharging it and recharging it, the maximum charge capacity diminishes. This means you battery cannot hold as much charge and your potential battery life is reduced.
Your Battery Health is calculated by dividing your current maximum charge capacity by your original maximum charge capacity. This gives you a percentage battery health. We have created different categories for different ranges of battery health. These ranges are explained below:
Excellent: We determine that your battery health is 'Excellent' if your battery health percentage is above 90%. Meaning that your battery's maximum charge capacity is at least 90% of its original charge capacity.
Good: We determine that your battery health is 'Good' if your battery health percentage is between 50-89%. Meaning that your battery's maximum charge capacity is between 50-89% of its original charge capacity.
Poor: We determine that your battery health is 'Poor' if your battery health percentage is between 20-49%. Meaning that your battery's maximum charge capacity is between 20-49% of its original charge capacity.
Attention Needed: We determine that your battery health is 'Attention Needed' if your battery health percentage is below 20%. Meaning that your battery's maximum charge capacity is below 20% of its original charge capacity. If you battery health is in this range we highly recommend that you look for a replacement battery for your laptop otherwise you will likely not be able to spend very long not plugged into a power source on your laptop.
