What causes Microsoft WORD 2007 to crash with regularity. Office diagnostics are worthless.

Does it give you an error right before it crashes? if so, what's error message?

10Hi Gary,
Sorry to hear that you are facing this issue.
Follow the below steps:- Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to open the Windows Task Manager.
- Check the running processes to ensure that there are no stalled instances of Word still running, and if there are, end those processes.
Remove the entire registry key (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data) and the problem is now resolved.
When Word is started it will rebuild the key automatically.
