If you are seeing random pop-up ads or redirects within Microsoft Edge browser, then your computer may be infected with an adware or a potentially unwanted program. These pop-up ads are usually caused by an ad-supported program, which is distributed through various monetization platforms during installation. Adware can slow down your PC. It can also slow down your Internet connection by downloading advertisements. Advertising pop-ups can also distract you and waste your time if they have to be closed before you can continue using your PC.
You can follow the below methods in order to fix this issue and block these ads in your browser.
Method 1: Block pop-ups in Microsoft Edge
Select the More actions (…) button and select Settings. Scroll down the list to select View advanced settings and turn Block pop-ups to On. Method 2: Tweak settings in Edge Browser
End Edge browser task in Task Manager.
Disconnect your computer from the Internet.
Start Edge browser and just before the offending pop-up appears, press Ctrl+T (several times if necessary). This will allow you to get into Edge settings and clear cookies, etc. Next time you start all should be well. If you are still getting the annoying ads, then:
Close Edge browser again.
Navigate to C:\Users\[your-user-name]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_xxxxxx\AC\MicrosoftEdge\User\Default\Recovery\Active
Delete everything on that directory and open Edge browser.
Method 3: Remove unused programs from Control Panel
Perhaps an app that you accidentally installed as a package deal alongside an app that you actually wanted, a strange game-sounding program that’s appeared out of nowhere, or anything that just doesn’t sound quite right. If you don’t recognize an app that you have installed, you might want to consider uninstalling it – it could be the source of your pop-up problems. When the the Uninstall a Program screen is displayed, scroll through the list of currently installed programs and remove the following:
I kept getting the blue screen with Driver Power State Failure error message and then my computer would restart. I found your product and it did not happen any more. I just purchased an anti-virus (kaspersky) and now it is doing it again. It is so frustrating. My computer is only 6 months old. It is a Asus desktop.
