Hi Fredrik,

There's no built-in option to turn off the touch screen, but Into Windows has a quick workaround. If you want to use your Windows 8 device as a laptop with the classic mouse and keyboard combination, you can do so as follows.
  1. First, go to the device the manager by opening the "Charm Menu" and search for "Device Manager." If you don't see it, change the search filter to "Settings."
  2. Once in the Device Manager, expand "Tab." Then find "Human Interface Devices" and expand it.Disable Touch Screen in Windows
  3. You should see several "HID-compliant device" listings.
  4. Some PCs will call it an HID-Compliant Touch Screen, but yours may vary. If you don't have a touch screen option, you may have to try each HID Compliant until one works.
  5. When asked if you want to disable the device (Disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning. Do you really want to disable it?), select "yes." That's it. The touch screen on your Windows 8 device should be disabled.disabled HID
To enable it again, just follow the same steps, but select "enable" instead. One important thing to remember: Once the touch is disabled, you'll need a keyboard and mouse paired with the device to undo it.

If you wish to only disable the touch keyboard, you can follow the below steps:
  1. Begin right-clicking Computer and select Manage.
  2. Note that you will need admin access to view this screen.muo-w8-keyboard-disable-stop
  3. Next, scroll down to Touch screen keyboard and handwriting panel, right-click and select Stop. This will permanently disable the software text input.muo-w8-keyboard-disable-properties
  4. Same way, once disabled, you’ll need to return to this screen to display the keyboard again.
I hope this helps in disabling the touch screen.

Regards,
Lokesh

I kept getting the blue screen with Driver Power State Failure error message and then my computer would restart. I found your product and it did not happen any more. I just purchased an anti-virus (kaspersky) and now it is doing it again. It is so frustrating. My computer is only 6 months old. It is a Asus desktop.
