The wss.exe file is an executable application process bundled with other EXE program files, modular DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files, certain SYS drivers, some background process items and various associated resource components that are used and referenced by Winferno software products. These applications are Windows programs classified as system security, maintenance and optimization tools that were developed by Capital Intellect with a set of features for monitoring, cleaning and protecting the system against invalid, corrupted or illegitimate Windows System Registry keys and entries, data security threats, user privacy risks and system stability issues. The wss.exe file is placed in the system alongside the other executable program files, DLL components and various resources implemented by these Winferno software products into the system, which is done upon the installation and configuration of the associated Winferno applications. This means the wss.exe process is integrated into the installer distribution packages of these Winferno software products. The wss.exe file is specifically deployed as the main executable dispatcher process of the Winferno Subscription Service module, which is an applet built into Winferno software products responsible for initiating contact with Winferno servers, upon user consent, in order to register these Winferno applications online, update product subscription licenses, search for available product upgrades among other resource components that can be automatically downloaded and installed in the system upon user request.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. wss.exe. is used by Winferno Software Products and Winferno Subscription Service Module, If you shut down wss.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop wss.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Winferno Software Products and Winferno Subscription Service Module, from your system.
