What is  winword.exe

Microsoft Office Word, also known as Microsoft Word, is the program that executes with the file winword.exe. This is the main executable file for the program. If you have MS Word open, you will see the file in your Task Manager window. If you disable the file or uninstall it, you will not be able to access MS Word. The file comes in different versions, depending on the version of MS Office that you have running on your PC. The later versions of the software are usually what clients are using today; from MS Office 2000 and up. Microsoft Office 2010 has the winword.exe file version of 14.0.4734.1000. This file has a size of 1.36 MB. It has a standard disk location of C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 14\winword.exe. MS Office is software from Microsoft that installs Office applications on the computer: MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, Groove, PowerPoint, InfoPath, OneNote and Outlook.
