The vsnp2std.exe file refers to a program called the CameraMonitor Application, which is a digital camera driver and created by Sonix. CameraMonitor Application, which is executed by the file process vsnp2std.exe as well as other essential processes, detects a digital camera that is connected to the computer. Once the program is installed, the vsnp2std.exe file is automatically downloaded on the system too, is installed in the folder C:\Program Files, or sometimes in C:\Windows, and is registered with a run identifier known as “snp2std”, along with an execution command called “C:\Windows\vsnp2std.exe” in a particular Windows registry, which is the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry. Take not that run keys are the registry keys during startup, and they automatically execute a program everytime the user logs on into the Windows or the computer, and that is what the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry key does for the file vsnp2std.exe to launch and the whole CameraMonitor Application program to work.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. vsnp2std.exe. is used by CameraMonitor Application, If you shut down vsnp2std.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop vsnp2std.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CameraMonitor Application, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.
