What is  vprot.exe

AVG Security Toolbar is the application that is installed when you execute the vprot.exe file. The process is connected with AVG’s LinkScanner feature, which scans results yielded by popular search engines. The file identifies which websites are safe for browsing, and which ones should be left alone, unvisited by the user. The process works on determining safe and unsafe websites before the user actually clicks on the link to enter the site. There is also a site rating that is displayed at the side of the website link, to provide users with information on how the site ranks in terms of safety and security for your PC. The process runs in a 64-bit platform. It is not a process that is required to run when you boot your PC. You can choose to enable the file only when you will be surfing the Internet, and when you will be looking for sites through search engines.
