Tapeware is a Backup and Data Recovery software that has been developed by Yosemite Technologies Incorporated. The twwinsdr.exe file is part of this software and it is part of the system of the software that launches the functionalities of Tapeware. The twwinsdr.exe allows the grouping of all servers and workstations into zones. Then each zone holds a database where all data on backup and restoration for that specific zone are stored. Twwinsdr.exe also provides for the security of the backup media. For example, even if the software creates multiple zones for different network areas, each system is required to be a part of only one zone. No one is allowed to log into zone to restore data or to use a tape drive and media. There has to be a user profile and a password. The EXE file enables a user to secure data from any server to any tape drive in the same zone.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. twwinsdr.exe. is used by Tapeware, If you shut down twwinsdr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop twwinsdr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Tapeware, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
