The tsc.exe process is the executable file for the Total Security Cleanup engine, a system security and cleanup tool. Tsc.exe runs a periodic scan of the system folders and subfolders, and performs a cleanup by removing empty, useless, duplicated files and folders to free the computer of disk space. Tsc.exe is developed specifically to optimize the system performance by the freed up disk space that can be utilized in more important functions. Most of these files will not be completely harmful as they do not necessarily steal personal information like a spyware does. However, these files will act in order to inconvenience the user with the frequent window pop-ups which prompt the user to register or join, or pay unwanted offers, items and services in order to stop or remove rather non-existent stuff. Total Security Cleanup is also used when the system accumulates duplicated files caused by malware and spywares displaying fake and/or altered file names and resides these empty files in system subfolders, resulting to a useless taking up of disk space.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tsc.exe. is used by Total Security Cleaner, If you shut down tsc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tsc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Total Security Cleaner, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Total Security Cleaner, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
