The tpwrtray.exe file is an EXE application process distributed with other executable program files, certain modular Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files, some SYS driver files, particular background processes and various associated component resources that are required by the Toshiba Power Manager software. This application is a Windows program classified as a power management tool that was developed by Toshiba and bundled with the firmware and driver software components of certain Toshiba laptop models. The Toshiba Power Manager software is a required system component because the Windows Power Management utility applet is disabled by default in these Toshiba laptop models, and users of these Toshiba laptops cannot choose from these two power management tools. The tpwrtray.exe process is installed in the system upon the installation of the Toshiba Power Manager software and its associated firmware and driver software distributions, which also means the tpwrtray.exe process is integrated into the installers of these Toshiba firmware and driver software packages. The tpwrtray.exe process is specifically deployed as one of the components of a Toshiba Power Manager module that is responsible for implementing Toshiba Power Manager context menu selection items in the Windows System Tray.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tpwrtray.exe. is used by Toshiba Power Manager, If you shut down tpwrtray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tpwrtray.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Toshiba Power Manager, from your system.
