Termed IBM KCU Service as its process name, tpkmpsvc.exe is an instance of Windows file, and a component of IBM KCU Service, or IBM ThinkPad Keyboard Mapping Utility, which is created by Lenovo Group Limited, formerly called as IBM. The tpkmpsvc.exe file is a background module used to implement the keyboard mapping functions of ThinkPad computers by Lenovo. The software that houses the file is pre-installed by default, but can be disabled if the user does not need its function, only if it is done through the control software of ThinkPad. Terminating or deleting the software is not recommended at all. In addition, the module tpkmpsvc.exe is associated with the utility pack, and mainly used to manage the keyboard mapping functions. Once downloaded, this file must remain stored on a folder location on the Windows ThinkPad computer, and kept running in the background, unless the program is intentionally disabled or uninstalled.
