THe tpfnf7sp.exe process is the executable file for running the ThinkPad Presentation Director Fn+F7 software, a program that enables the user create and manage graphic images and use them for Windows desktop display schemes or utilize the collection for conducting a presentation. The built-in ThinkPad Presentation Director image display schemes can be accessed via the on-screen menu that opens when the user presses the Fn + F7 key combination. For example, if a Flexilecture system user wishes to project the screen at a 1024 x 768 resolution, the settings can be adjusted by selecting the “Presentation of Projector and Notebook XGA 1024x768” option. Choosing "My Normal Display Settings" will return the screen settings to the previous mode. If the user desires to add new display settings outside the preconfigured schemes in the software, from the same screen options menu the user simply has to click the “Manage Schemes” button to go to the “Manage Presentation Director Settings” window, and create the desired customization there.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. tpfnf7sp.exe. is used by ThinkPad Presentation Director, If you shut down tpfnf7sp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop tpfnf7sp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ThinkPad Presentation Director, from your system.
