The tp4serv.exe process is a Windows file called by the service name IBM PS/2 TrackPoint Daemon, or PS/2 TrackPoint Daemon, which is a part of the software IBM PS/2 TrackPoint Support, also ThinkPad TrackPoint Driver, a type of mouse driver software created by Lenovo Group Limited or IBM. IBM PS/2 TrackPoint Support is made exclusively for Windows XP and Windows 2000, but supports many ThinkPad systems by Lenovo, which include ThinkPad A20m, ThinkPad A30p, ThinkPad G41, ThinkPad s31, ThinkPad R51e (*4), ThinkPad T20 to T23, ThinkPad T42, ThinkPad X32, ThinkPad X40, ThinkPad Z61e (*4), ThinkPad 390, ThinkPad 570, ThinkPad 600E, ThinkPad 770ED, ThinkPad 770X, ThinkPad I Series 1157, ThinkPad i Series 1200, 1300, ThinkPad i Series 1400 Type-2611, ThinkPad i Series 1500 Type-2621 and 2651, and ThinkPad i Series 1781. Because it is bundled along with other modules in the program, the tp4serv.exe file must be kept running in the background.
