What is  timezone.exe

The timezone.exe file is an executable process implemented with other EXE program files, modular DLLs, SYS driver files and associated components that are required by the Microsoft Time Zone software, which is an add-on program for Windows-based systems that was developed with a set of features for updating the time zone settings of the calendar and clock functions of the Windows system. The timezone.exe process is available for automatic download and installation as a Windows Update package, which means the timezone.exe process is placed in the system upon the installation of the Microsoft Time Zone add-on update. The timezone.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable dispatcher file of the Microsoft Time Zone software, and the timezone.exe process is also associated with the Microsoft Daylight Savings Time update module that is built into the Microsoft Time Zone program.
