What is  tcpip.exe

The tcpip.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users to be a Trojan.OnlineGames.Gen.87 variant, which is a known malicious application that can exploit the TCP/IP network ports of the infected system in order to download more malware components that can gather data and Internet surfing information from the default Web browser. Some user reports claimed that the tcpip.exe process is a variant of Trojan.Popwin, which is a malicious adware program that has been reported to be capable of hijacking the default Web browser in order to display pop-up ads that are related to the Internet browsing data collected from the system by this malware. The tcpip.exe process, according to some users, is capable of creating keys and entries that can be injected into the Windows System Registry in order for the system to allow the tcpip.exe process to initialize during startup and to continue operating as a background process during system runtime.
