The starteak.exe file refers to the keyboard drivers for Compaq computers, and replaces the default keyboard drivers already installed in the system. Developed by Compaq Computer Corporation, this is an executable file that has to be installed separately in order to replace the standard or default keyboard drivers. Once the advanced version of the program is installed, the strrteak.exe file allows a user to navigate the one-touch keys, which enable the communication between the hardware and the operating system. It also has the ability to control the volume settings using the one-touch keys, and provide a means to set the computer to sleep, which can be scheduled through duration time frames. The advanced program where the starteak.exe file is included has a mail button as well, and that file is responsible in making it function faster, more effective and easier. This means that email access is more reliable because of the presence of the starteak.exe file.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. starteak.exe. is used by Compaq Keyboard Drivers, If you shut down starteak.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
