What is  srv.exe

The srv.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users as a variant of the Adware-HotBar program, which is a malicious application that can compromise the security and privacy of the data stored in an infected Windows-based computer. According to some user reports, the srv.exe process can automatically initialize during system startup because of keys and entries this possibly malicious application can create and inject into the Windows System Registry. The srv.exe file has also been reported to be capable of operating as a background process during system runtime without the user's consent, in order to search for system vulnerabilities that it can exploit. These exploited system vulnerabilities, as stated by a few users, are usually TCP/IP network ports that can be used by the srv.exe process to initiate contact with predesignated Web servers managed by its authors. According to the same user reports, the srv.exe process then proceeds to gather data and Internet browsing information from the systema nd the default Web browser, in order to transmit this data to those Web servers.

How can I stop srv.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. srv.exe. is used by Adware-HotBar, If you shut down srv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop srv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Adware-HotBar, from your system.
