The skypeNames2.exe file is the executable process for the Skype Toolbar, a software application for Skype, the leading instant messenger platform. The Skype Toolbar makes contact numbers in the Skype interface window “clickable”. Skype works well with major browsers such as FireFox, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer. Skype is a communication engine that enables the people use a phone service via the Internet, and allows users to make low-cost Global calls. The SkypeNames2.exe application works to help people. However, if the program is not working properly or if a user continually gets error messages, it is recommended that the user uninstall and reinstall the program. SkypeNames2.exe itself has no visible interface; it is a file driver, therefore its functionality is what runs the Skype program, integrated into its interface. Despite the usefulness of this application, Skype may interfere with the firewall settings defined by the user. Therefore, it is advised that the user follow carefully the Skype step-by-step tutorial, especially when using Skype for the first time and/or if the computer that runs the program is short on memory disk space.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. skypenames2.exe. is used by Skype Instant Messenger, If you shut down skypenames2.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop skypenames2.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Skype Instant Messenger, from your system.
