The module skypeieplugin.dll, known as Skype add-on for IE or Skype Click to Call for Internet Explorer, belongs to software Skype Toolbars from Skype Technologies S.A. the application is designed to enhance productivity and convenience among Skype users with the use of toolbars for Web, email, and desktop applications. The toolbar is designed to enable users to send instant messages or initiate voice and video calls directly from popular computer applications like Microsoft Outlook and internet Explorer. Many essential features of the application are displayed on the toolbar like add contacts, search to find Skype users, call phones (SkypeOut) from the dial lab, start a Skype conference, open a chat with the selected Skype contacts, send an SMS text message, or send files to Skype contacts. Some of the toolbar icons may not be visible if the toolbar window is narrow. Clicking on the double-arrow icon on the right side of the toolbar will display toolbar icons that are hidden.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. skypeieplugin.dll. is used by Skype Toolbars, If you shut down skypeieplugin.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
