What is  sgtray.exe

Developed by Veritas Software Corporation, sgtray.exe is the process file application specifically programmed to prompt the user to backup or duplicate and save computer files and documents. This feature provides users safety of files as well as safety of the machine as the saved files will be put to use for future restoration operations to prevent data loss when the system crashes or in the events of power fail and/or outages. Sgtray.exe has the ability to self-install in the system tray bar for easy access and visibility. The Windows Backup utility preserves the last good saved file to protect hard work put in creating it, and to provide it upon request on system recovery processes. The continuous backup copies computer data through automatic storing of changes made in the file. Continuous backup is essential in capturing versions of data saved by its user. Thus, sgtray.exe is highly recommended to not be disabled or terminated.
