The setupstb.exe process is an executable file included with the modular system components, system drivers and other program files that are needed by the firmware and driver software resources of Microsoft Intellipoint mouse devices. The setupstb.exe process is installed in the system along with these files and DLL modules of the firmware and driver software components of these devices upon the installation of the Microsoft Intellipoint mouse firmware and driver package. This means the setupstb.exe process is bundled with the installer distributions of these Microsoft Intellipoint mouse device firmware and driver software resources. The setupstb.exe process is specifically deployed as one of the components of certain modules required by the Microsoft Intellipoint firmware and driver software distributions to perform its intended operations for the associated Microsoft Intellipoint mouse device upon system and user request.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. setupstb.exe. is used by Microsoft Intellipoint, If you shut down setupstb.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop setupstb.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Microsoft Intellipoint, from your system.
