The scvsssvc.exe process is the product of Centered Systems for the software Second Copy. This software is used to automatically back up user’s files and information recorded on the computer for easy retrieval and safety of sensitive files in case there is a system crash that may occur unexpectedly. This software is compatible with Windows XP and above but not with other operating systems. This software can back up files from an external drive as well as from the internal drive of the computer. Second Copy software makes sure that all back up files are up to date and it does not require any user action for it to run in the background. It automatically does its work of backing up information or data without having to wait for inputs or commands from the user. Like any other files, this can be uninstalled if it seems to pose a threat to the computer’s system registry.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. scvsssvc.exe. is used by Second Copy, If you shut down scvsssvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop scvsssvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Second Copy, from your system.
