The rtmservice.exe file is an EXE application resource component bundled with other executable program files, some Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files, certain SYS driver files, particular background process items and various associated component resources that are used and referenced by the DeviceLock software. This is a Windows program classified as a DLP (Data Loss Prevention) application designed with a set of features for integrating data security protocols into client computers and NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices that are connected to local and remote networks. The rtmservice.exe process is a component of the Remote Task Manager module, which is an applet built into the DeviceLock DLP software, and this module is responsible for implementing remote network management and data transmission functionalities into the Windows system where the DeviceLock DLP client software is installed. The rtmservice.exe process is placed in the system upon the installation of the DeviceLock DLP software, which also means the rtmservice.exe process is packaged into the installer distributions of the DeviceLock DLP program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. rtmservice.exe. is used by DeviceLock DLP (Data Loss Prevention), If you shut down rtmservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop rtmservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is DeviceLock DLP (Data Loss Prevention), from your system.
