What is  riconman.exe

Realtek Semiconductor Corporation developed riconman.exe, an executable file for IconMan_R, the software contained in Realtek’s product line which is mainly categorized into two integrated circuits: the Communications Network, and the Computer Peripheral and Multimedia. IconMan_R is a data card reader, an input device which reads data thru a card-shaped data storage medium with a barcode, computer chip, magnetic strip, or other storage medium. Realtek manufactures and distributes broad range of products globally, including the following products: • Network Interface Controllers (NIC) • Traditional Ethernet controllers • Advanced gigabit Ethernet controllers • PHYceivers or Physical Layer Controllers • Network switch controllers • Wireless LAN integrated circuit • Gateway controllers • ADSL router controllers With service name IconMan_R or Realtek Card Reader Icon tool, riconman.exe runs upon system startup, and runs in the background obtaining the extensive privileges as the user account on the local computer, and representing it within the Windows network.

How can I stop riconman.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. riconman.exe. is used by Memory Card Reader, If you shut down riconman.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
