The regseeker.exe process is simply known as RegSeeker. It is a process and software by itself. This is a registry tool that is responsible in cleaning, searching, viewing, and optimizing a user’s computer by accessing its registry. The RegSeeker is a non-system process meaning it cannot be preinstalled but has to be installed manually by the user from off the website. Installing this registry tool makes it an additional application or file entered into the computer’s registry. This does not affect the storage on the computer though since RegSeeker is not a Windows system file but having several programs or applications similar to this running at the same time can cause slow performance of the PC. This process can be found in at least three locations on a Windows computer’s folders: the “C:\Documents and Settings”, the “C:\Program Files”, and the “My Files” folder. This process does not have visible windows on task manager.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. regseeker.exe. is used by RegSeeker, If you shut down regseeker.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop regseeker.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is RegSeeker, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as RegSeeker, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
