The rasautou.exe file is an executable file process that is basically called the Remote Access Dialer process by Microsoft. Although not as most essential as other processes, rasautou.exe must remain active and working, because many third party applications and programs rely on it for modem connections management. In other words, this file program is responsible in dialing remote connection to provide access of the Internet, network sharing, and other related connectivity it supports. The only time it has to be deleted is when it starts giving technical issues and errors, which may affect the performance of the computer system. Furthermore, the rasautou.exe file needs to be regularly checked and scanned, to ensure it is functioning properly. When it is properly working, this process appears in the Task List during handling or waiting for an incoming modem-based connection from a remote system, or other user, such as dial-up modem and ISDN modem. If using a third party application that requires connectivity, this program requires dialing which appears visibly to notify the user.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. rasautou.exe. is used by Remote Access Dialer , If you shut down rasautou.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
