What is  quickstart.exe

The executable file quickstart.exe is an application that allows the user to easily access the OpenOffice.org program and it has an additional system tray icon for a convenient access to the OpenOffice.org application. This application is slightly similar to the Microsoft Office suite which is also designed for specific functions. It is also associated with the QuickStart application of the OpenOffice.org that allows the user to save time in choosing individual document types or in accessing directly to a particular template. A menu of various OpenOffice.org components like Calc, Impress, Draw, and Writer will display by right-clicking the OpenOffice.org Quickstart icon, and it can even launch Web sites and documents by browsing on the Internet, and entering the URL and by clicking on the launch button. Quickstart.exe can increase the Windows time for booting up because of certain components from the office suite that has been preloaded.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. quickstart.exe. is used by OpenOffice.org, If you shut down quickstart.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
