The qbUpdate.exe process is an executable file that loads the program QuickBooks 2003, an application designed for handling data and record payroll management for small and large businesses. QuickBooks comes in newer and updated versions. QbUpdate.exe is also termed Intuit’s QuickBooks Update Agent. Its main purpose is to process important details that are recorded in the running QuickBooks 2003 program, and save the changes made in order to be sent online through the Intuit server. The programmer is then prompted with a question whether to proceed with the download of the activated updates. The QuickBooks 2003 application gets activated as soon as the file driver qbupdate.exe executes. To start using and updating the book, open its File menu, and select Update QuickBooks. Then choose Options, and set ON the Automatic Update tool. Save the settings. To activate QuickBooks 2003 upon system startup, the user should confirm the task QBUPDATE on “Enabled” settings in the System Configuration Utility section.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. qbupdate.exe. is used by QuickBooks 2003, If you shut down qbupdate.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop qbupdate.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is QuickBooks 2003, from your system.
