What is  powermgr.exe

The file powermgr.exe belongs to Lexmark Printers Software. It is a Power Manager that automatically switches the printer on and off with the PC. Power management is a common feature for computer peripherals like monitors and printers that either turns off the power or switches the system to a low power state when inactive. The principle is built around the ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) standard that provides an open standard for device configuration and power management. This is done in order to check, consolidate, and improve existing power and configuration standards for hardware devices. The motivation for power management includes the reduction of overall power consumption, prolonging the battery life of portable and embedded systems, reducing cooling requirements, reducing noise, and reducing operating costs for energy and cooling. When the computer hibernates, the contents of the RAM are saved to disk and powers down the machine. This allows the machine to be completely powered-off while in the hibernate mode.
