File extension pdvd9serv.exe is a Remote Control tool that can be used with compatible Cyberlink Power DVD drives. The file mainly installs with Cyberlink’s Power DVD driver, but some users found the file in the system after installing a different DVD driver, from another manufacturer. The file then could also be the RC support of other optical DVD devices, and may not be exclusive to Cyberlink Power DVD. If the file installed with a different DVD driver, it is not recommended to have the program uninstalled, because it could affect the performance of the DVD drive. However, users without RC-capable DVDs choose to disable the file, because they find that the file takes up space that their screensavers need in order to display properly. While the file was running in the background, their screensaver function was hampered; but after disabling the file, their screensaver worked fine. It was determined by some users that the file was taking up space in the system that primarily affected the screensaver function.
