What is  outicon.exe

The file outicon.exe appears to be part of the Microsoft Office 2007 software. From what users have experienced regarding the file, it displays a System Tray icon for Microsoft Office Outlook. The file’s only purpose is to display the icon which provides users with a shortcut button to launch various MS Outlook features such as emails and contact details. This file is configured to launch upon startup, but since it is nothing more than a shortcut icon, it can be removed from the startup tasks so your system can load faster every time you boot the PC. Users who have disabled the file did not experience any system or application errors. It is therefore considered safe to disable the file if the user will not be using the shortcut icon for MS Outlook. The file can be found in C:\Windows\Installers. It has a typical size of 104,960 bytes. The file has been used by backdoor Trojans to infect the system, as per users’ reports.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. outicon.exe. is used by MS Outlook Icon, If you shut down outicon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
