The omniinet.exe file is an executable component application process deployed with the firmware and driver software distribution packages of certain hardware devices from Hewlett Packard. The omniinet.exe process is specifically implemented as the executable dispatcher file of the HP OpenView Storage Data Protector module, which is a program that is built into the firmware and driver software components of supported HP hardware devices. This means when those HP firmware and deriver software resources need to load the HP OpenView Storage Data Protector module and implement its functionalities into the system upon user request, the omniinet.exe process is activated. Upon its execution, the omniinet.exe calls other associated program files and references modular system resources as well as application-specific modules in order to perform the requested operations of the system or the user.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. omniinet.exe. is used by HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Module, If you shut down omniinet.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop omniinet.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP OpenView Storage Data Protector Module, from your system.
