What is  ntunecmd.exe

The process ntunecmd.exe is nVidia nTune Command file. It is associated with the application nVidia nTune, nVidia Performance, nVidia Display Control Panel and nVidia System Monitor. The applications are developed by nVidia. Ntunecmd.exe allows the user of the application to adjust the settings of nVidia based motherboards using Microsoft Windows and then to save the settings as personal profiles that executes at startup. nVidia nTune provides functionalities that can be used for accessing, monitoring and adjusting the system components like temperature and voltage. These functionalities can be controlled by using an easy to use control panel. nVidia nTune can automatically change the settings and checks them to see the possible combination which is the most effective setting to use. For example, the application can provide the best setting for a specific computer hardware configuration. The user can also save what he or she has configured. The user can be able to choose which type of profile is appropriate for a certain activity.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ntunecmd.exe. is used by nVidia nTune, If you shut down ntunecmd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
