What is  nmbgmonitor.exe

The Nero Vision, Nero Home and Nero Scout multimedia applications are associated with the nmbgmonitor.exe process. It is a Nero Media Background Monitor. This EXE file allows data to be written to CD-RW and CD-R discs. It permits for over-burning and supports ISO mode 1, ISO 9660 and XA mode 2 images, as well as multi-session and mixed-mode recording, ISO/HFS hybrids, HFS, PSX, UDF, OFAS and other extracted digital audio. The Nero Scout is a program that is easily accessible, so it can always start whenever necessary. To stop the process from running, a reboot is usually required. It can be disabled using the Nero Scout’s Options available. This EXE file is a media indexer and continually runs in the background as it looks for new media files like videos, MP3s and photos. When files are found they are then added to their own internal database. The sole purpose for this database is to give the user more convenient ways to access media files without navigating other folders in the user’s hard drive.
