A keyboard driver that is nhksrv.exe is also known as Netropa Hotkey Server task that has been only develop for Dell and Compaq computers. This process only runs under the Windows NT4, Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating system only. This software has the task on deactivating the hotkeys on the Dell and Compaq Personal Computers while the PC of the user is locked by a screen saver. The user may also configure the locking system via Netropa / Dell hotkeys configuration window. This software is also responsible for the special keys on Dell and Compaq keyboard such as the internet button and multi-media button that is not usually included in the conventional keyboard. This program is considered non essential system process and can be disable and can be totally removed from the Operating System. The process file is usually found in the C:\Program Files\Netropa\Multimedia Keyboard\ and has the file size of 28,672 bytes on both Windows XP and Windows 7.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nhksrv.exe. is used by Netropa NHK Server, If you shut down nhksrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nhksrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Netropa NHK Server, from your system.
