What is  ndproxy.sys

Ndproxy.sys is the system file for Network Driver Interface Specification Proxy, an extensive support for wireless and wired network runtime diagnostics. It assists in the TCP information management as well as event tracing and logging. The Vista TCP/IP supports ESTATS that defines performance statistics for TCP to determine the causes of network performance bottlenecks. The Windows Vista informs the user when there are network transmission failures, like incorrect DNS, incorrect IP address, and when the gateway failure, default gateway settings, port in use is blocked, DHCP service not running, receiver not ready, NetBIOS over TCP/IP resolution failure, among others. Transmission errors are exhaustively logged, and analyzed to find the error cause. Windows Vista can detect network topology of the host computer, using Universal Plug and Play devices, and provide help and assistance to the user’s task of fixing network issues and/or simply providing a graphical view of perceived network configuration settings.
