The process with the service name of Sophos Agent and an executable file extension of managementagentnt.exe is part of the software Sophos Endpoint Security and Control. The service basically runs on the server to enable network administrators to manage the Sophos AV program on end-user computers. The service Sophos Agent transmits and receives messages via another Sophos component, the Sophos Remote Management System. The file is usually installed in the following path: C:\Program Files\Sophos\Remote Management System\managementagentnt.exe. For file version 3, 2, 0, 2013; the file size on disk is about 282,624 bytes. This version is usually installed in Windows XP. The file is generally regarded as harmless. There were no significant reports from users that mention the file as being flagged as a virus. However, there were reports that the file was found to be consuming up to 100% of CPU resources. This was found to be caused by a .dll file that got loaded through the managementagentnt.exe file. Apart from this, no other issues were reported.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. managementagentnt.exe. is used by Sophos Agent, If you shut down managementagentnt.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop managementagentnt.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Sophos Agent, from your system.
