The macname.exe file is an executable application process that is used by the Mac Opener software, which is a Windows program classified as a cross platform utility tool developed by DataViz with features that can allow Windows users to access, write and format Mac floppy disks among other Mac media drives. The macname.exe process is also used by the Conversions Plus software, which is another Windows application from DataViz that allows Mac and Windows users to share disks that are formatted for each of these OS platforms. The macname.exe file is distributed with other EXE program files, certain DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules, some SYS driver utilities, specific background process items and various components, which are all implemented into the Windows-based system upon the installation of the Conversions Plus software or the Mac Opener program. This also means the macname.exe process is bundled with the installer distribution packages of the Mac Opener program and the Conversions Plus software. The macname.exe process is specifically deployed as a resource file that is used by the MacName UI Loader module, which is a built-in applet of the Mac Opener software and the Conversions Plus program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. macname.exe. is used by DataViz Mac Opener and DataViz Conversions Plus and MacName UI Loader, If you shut down macname.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop macname.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is DataViz Mac Opener and DataViz Conversions Plus and MacName UI Loader, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as DataViz Mac Opener and DataViz Conversions Plus and MacName UI Loader, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
