The ma_cmidi_inst.exe process is an EXE application resource component deployed as one of the processes that aids the firmware utilities and drivers of M-Audio MIDI keyboards in the integration of these external audio hardware devices into the Windows-based system. This means the ma_cmidi_inst.exe process assists certain associated SYS driver utilities of these M-Audio MIDI keyboards in communicating with the other hardware components of the system and in transmitting data between the firmware distributions and drivers of these keyboards and the Windows-based system.
