The ipcagent.exe file is an EXE application process that is distributed alongside other executable program files, certain SYS driver utilities, some modular Dynamic Link Library (DLL) resources, specific background process items and various components that are used and referenced by the iPass client software. The ipcagent.exe process is specifically known as IPC Agent and is particularly deployed as a component of the iPassConnect module as well as the iPass VPN Access Manager module of the iPass client application. The ipcagent.exe file is integrated together with these other file resources into the installer distribution packages of the iPass client software, which also means the ipcagent.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the iPass client application. This software is classified as a network client utility tool that allows subscribers of iPass to connect their Windows-based systems to the iPass global wireless network, in order to implement wireless connectivity features into their devices.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ipcagent.exe. is used by iPass Client and iPass Client Agent and iPassConnect Module and iPass VPN Access Manager Module, If you shut down ipcagent.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ipcagent.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is iPass Client and iPass Client Agent and iPassConnect Module and iPass VPN Access Manager Module, from your system.
