The process imgstart.exe, known as imgstart, belongs to software Iomega Corporation imgstart from Iomega. Imgstart is a process that is installed alongside Iomega Zip Drives and provides additional configuration options for these devices. The Zip Drive is a medium sized capacity removable disk storage system from Iomega that was originally launched with a capacity of 100 MB, with later versions having increased capacity of 250 MB and 750 MB. It became a popular super-floppy type portable storage device in the 1990s, but was not as popular as the 3.5-inch floppy disk. Zip drives are available in multiple interfaces that include IDE True ATA, ATAPI, USB 1.1 and 2.0, IEEE 1284 and 1394, SCSI and Plus. Parallel port external Zip drives are actually SCSI drives with an integrated parallel-to-SCSI controller, meaning a true SCSI bus implementation but without the electrical buffering circuits necessary for connecting other external devices.
